Even though this is OLD you should still be aware of it. A long time ago Google introduced TV ads into adwords. This means that anyone can start running their own TV ads on real television sets all across America. Just upload a video file to Google, choose your stations and run times, place your bid, and Google will take care of the rest.

With Google's TV ad service they are really opening the market for anyone (even the little companies) to pay for premium commercial placements.
